Tool 3 · Fees and dates
What a note costs, and the day it runs out.
RM 50 per notification, valid two years, renewed for RM 50 no later than a month before it ends. A Type 2 change, such as a new formula or a new name, starts the clock again with a new number. Enter your range and the date the note is issued.

Fees from the guideline §2.6 and §2.9: RM 50 for each product (and variant, if any), for notification, renewal and a Type 2 change; no charge for Type 1 changes. The wording does not say whether variants of one product are billed one by one, so we show both counts. Quest prices are from the August 2022 table and exclude 6% GST as printed there; the table also lists postage RM 10 (Peninsular) or RM 20 (Sabah, Sarawak). Notifier, laboratory, safety assessor and importer charges are not included.
How the dates are read
“The notification of a cosmetic product shall be valid for 2 years. The renewal should be done no later than 1 month prior to notification expiry” (§2.7). A product that is not renewed in time gets a new notification number when it is notified again (§2.10); our reading is that sales must pause in between, because Regulation 18A bans selling a cosmetic that is not a notified cosmetic (§1.1).
Set the reminder for three months before the renewal date: your notifier has to log in with its Quest certificate, and the formula, label and importer details in Quest must still match the product on the shelf.
